2005 "Thera" Collaboration with Ikuo Nakamura
Ikuo Nakamura is a Japanese electronic artist based in New York City. He has studied Physics at Science University of Tokyo and Holography at New York Holographic Labratories.

We met at an exhibit at Hololab when it was still located in Long Island City, NY. (BTW: Ikuo's 3D work was featured at our 2017 ModernfoldStyles 60th anniversary event.)

The 'Thera' collaboration was created shortly after that first meeting. Ikuo wanted to superimpose a stop motion video on top his image of my holographic 3D performance-art portrayal of Madam X.
Emulating the original model, I moved as if preparing for a photo shoot adjusting my dress and strap before the pose.
'When I finally rest into the pose I will relax my shoulder so that the strap falls down,' I explained.
'Can you really make the strap do that?' Ikuo asked.

Well, to all the strap-wearers out there, haven't we all experienced those those recalcitrant shoulder straps that just won't stay put? Here we put the shoulder-strap law of physics to work for art's sake!
